Hi,
Over the weekend I switched my Exchange server over to a fiber network and hence was required to assign it a new IP address externally. I correctly updated all the DNS records and 99% of my company is working without a hitch all day yesterday....all except one user. This user has received many kickback messages. They can still send emails to a lot of people but other people who they use to be able to email all the time are throwing kickbacks. I will include them below. First let me state that I have thought that their ISP perhaps handn't updated THEIR DNS yet and therefore were failing on a reverse lookup or something. But it's been well over a day now so that seems unlikely. Especially one being comcast.net which is a rather large organization. I would like to believe it's on the users end but it makes no sense that her personal machine would be doing the name resolutions. Anyway here's a list of the various kickback messages she received:
1. There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
<myserver.mydomain.com #5.5.0 smtp;554 Sending address not accepted due to spam filter>
2. The e-mail address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address. Check the address and try again.
<myserver.mydomain.com #5.1.8 smtp;550 5.1.8 sender IP must have reverse lookup (DNS PTR); ip xxx.xx.xx.211>
