Workgroups & Permissions - strange workgroup, denied access

Hi, I don't know if my two problems are related...

I have a couple of WinVista machines and a couple of XPs. My main computer is one of the Vistas and it is running a DB that the others need to connect to and share. I can't figure out why I can't connect from the others. I keep getting the "access denied" message. I don't have any firewall running, as the software developer said to turn it off for troubleshooting purposes.

I need access to the SQLEXPRESS folder and also a Program Files\1234 folder

Secondly, when I snoop around today looking at the network, I see not only the MSHOME workgroup, but I also see another one, "Cherokee". What is that?? I have no idea where that came from and now I"m worried about what that is. Start Free Trial
