Install Failed on Windows Server Update Services 3.0

Not sure what happened, but everything was working fine and then the shortcut on the desktop can't find the file, I looked in Admin tools and nothing, it is gone.

So I am trying to reinstall the package, it goes through just about everything fine, but when it gets to the configuring database status it hangs and then gives an error:

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

Then it rolls back and says it could not be completed and gives the setup log....

Maybe there are pieces of the original install still on here?  This might have happened when SP1 for this application was updated, but I am not sure...   Any help?

I don't think the first link will work since I am using the Windows Internal DB and not SQL.   And for the second link, this is being installed locally.  Just weird since this was all working fine...

Thats whats weird, I didn't uninstall but can't find it anywhere.  I also do not see it within Add/Remove Programs.  I am not sure if during the last batch of updates if SP1 for that program failed or not.  I can't remember, I just saw something quick then that was it.  I tried the lodctr /R command earlier today without success...

Ok we should then start from scratch

How to manually remove all of WSUS  

make sure you dont miss any steps

I would also remove and reinstall .NET

OK, so I tried all the above, removed everything and now it goes through the install and looks like it worked but gives the failed message, this one is different and now the setup log is different too...

Check the registry for the key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Update Services\Server\Setup

 and change the value of "wYukonInstalled" to 0x0 and ensure that
"SqlInstanceIsRemote" = 0x0

There is only a SetupFailure folder under Server.

If you are running an x86-based edition of Microsoft Windows Server 2003, use the following command line to remove Windows Internal Database from the computer:

msiexec /x {CEB5780F-1A70-44A9-850F-DE6C4F6AA8FB} CALLERID=ocsetup.exe

If you are running an x64-based edition of Windows Server 2003, use the following command line to remove Windows Internal Database from the computer:

msiexec /x {BDD79957-5801-4A2D-B09E-852E7FA64D01} CALLERID=ocsetup.exe

Looks like that last piece did the trick!!  I uninstalled and was able to reinstall everything, one last question, I renamed the old WSUS folder to WSUS_OLD and created a new WSUS folder which was blank.  Should I just move everything into the new WSUS folder?  Or should I just start from scratch?
