SharePoint Services 3.0 sp2

Asked by Monte515 in Server Applications, MS SharePoint

Tags: SharePoint Services

I installed Windows SharePoint Service 3 sp2 with disastrous results; SharePoint no longer runs. From the numerous errors reported it appears the upgrade failed. Attempting to fix the problem I ran psconfig.exe cmd upgrade force; no luck, failed with the message Failed to upgrade because type is not supported or was not specified.

PcScan.exe /all reports the following:
System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN\temp\1\PreupgradeReport_633779119282812500_Summary.xml".

Failed

The upgrade log is too large to attach.

I can reinstall from backup, but I am looking for a different solution. All help will be greatly appreciated.
