With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Win 2003 sbs and remote clients

I have recently installed win 2003 small business server,which includes echange 2003, isa server,sharepoint etc.

I have set up a domain and clients,all of whom r running win xp pro.

One of the computers which was configured and running on my local LAN,now has to be moved to another external location which may b considered a semi-piblic location (for security purposes).

Shud I make that computer part of a workgroup or keep it as a member of the domain?

The computer will be required to use remote web workplace and connect to my server so as to access mail,progs,liscence keys and docs on my internal Lan environment.

Most of the users who will be authorised!! to operate this remote computer,are my domain users with mobile user group membership.(Do I need to make them memebrs of the remote users also??).They will use the remote web workplace to access the server and the docs etc mentioned above.
Shud the anti-virus and Win updates be made automatic without referring to the server.Due to group policy restrictions,to enable this,I need to remove the computer from my domain.

Another point is that I need to b able to peridically check the computer remotely,to confirm who has been loggin in and any system error logs etc.

Pls advise what wud b the best solution.
