Antivirus 2009 - Running AVG - Windows Security Alert (Possible Virus)

I have a new PC (less than 6 months old) getting a Windows Security Alert.  They are asking to download Antivirus 2009.  It appears to be a Malware virus because they are trying to sell something; however, I haven't been able to remove it.  I didn't install it but it appears on the startup of the computer.  There is no reference to the program in the program files.  I have run regmon and it doesn't seem to be detecting anything.  There are actually 2 security centers on this machine the REAL "Security Center" and the Windows Security Center.Start Free Trial
