We need to implement a web monitoring solution for our sites that feature a termnal server. We have investigated hardware firewall/montioring solutions but many of them are unable to differentiate between users on the terminal server (i.e. all traffic from the TS is treated as a single user).
The majority of our customer's sites are relatively small (less than 50 users), and a lot of them contain a hardware firewall solution (e.g. Netgear, Fortinet, Cisco etc) with VPN capabilities. None of these hardware solutions can effectively monitor traffic as required (in particular, most of them can't differentiate between AD users on the terminal server). Does any one know of any solutions that can do this?
We are aware that ISA can do this, but we are looking for a solution that is cost effective and easy to implement without effecting the existing firewall/VPN hardware that is in place. I would apprectiate any ideas as to how we can achieve this.
Thanks in advance,
Peter

One option is to add a proxy server. This would give you monitoring capabilities as well as the ability to block sites, and cache content to improve efficiency. Some possibilities include: /software/ cproxy/fea tures.asp / llegroSurf /
