We all know that seven has a special symbolism both in ancient philosophy and religion. Seven wonders of the ancient world, seven wise men of ancient Greece, seven gates to the other world, seven candles, seven days of creation etc. Does anyone know why seven and not six or eight? What it stands for both in ancient philosophy and in religion today?
Thanks in advance, and as it is my first question in 2006, happy new year to all.
