Appropriate Grading

I Have Read:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hi73
&
https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hi55

My understanding is that you give an:
'A' if the expert answered your question completely.
'B' if they answer your question indirectly, such as a link requiring you to read an  entire article in order to get information
'C' if an expert gave you a link or something that is very unclear and when you ask to clarify it they dont respond?

Basically a 'C' shouldnt be given unless you ask a question regarding the response of an expert, and that expert never replies. Then after an appropriate amount of time (like a week) that the expert does not respond you may give a C.

Is my interpretation of the grading system too lenient, too strict, or just about right?

Was the grade to the following question fair?

>  Just because you didn't get the answer you wanted to hear, doesn't mean it is a bad answer.

Q: Can I?
A: No.

IMO, a "No" is as valid an answer as a yes, and can also warrant an 'A' (where it is not refuted, or found to be incorrect answer)

The newer feature of splitting of points should also be used, for most questions take more than one expert response to get the Q both clarified and answered, and also, one can start a good answer, but not have the time to finish explaining it, where another can have more time to explain it, once the path to resolution has been determined.

>TBH in your question I think the "C" was a little harsh, particularly as you didn't come back to the people trying to answer before grading it.

MASQUERAID, I recieved the grade, I didnt assign the grade. The author of the question was ccrn, not me : Sof_Combat.

So far I Am Understanding That:

A: If the question is answered completely.

B: Question is solved, with a little additional work by the person who asks the question.

C: If the solution was met with very little help from the person, such as an indirect link. "have you tried Google?"  or "I saw something like that on CodeProjects.com ... Search for <something>" This should only be given if you ask a follow up question and the person doesn't answer after sufficiant time.

In addition, If you ask a Yes or No question. The simple response (with explanations as to why) is worth an 'A' regardless of whether the person who asks the question likes the fact that it is a yes or a no.

Whoops!, I can only offer in my defence that it was very late!

Please aim my comment at ccrn!

This should certainly be regraded, post a link to it in Community Support, they will also point out to ccrn that they can't just post a C grade and run.

Humble grovelling apologies

M :o)

Thank You Everyone Who Helped Out!

nobus, where would I :
"post a link to the grading pages (like you posted here), and ask him to review the grade"
Thanks. As a grader, I tend to give the less credit for those who make me work the hardest, and give more credit for those trying to explain better. Asker should be able to do the work, but just posting the same few links over and again in every question does not help me understand much more, even if I can find some form of answer - eventually. I can probably google up something better than that myself, had I the time.
you can post these links in the thread, together with something like : the grade given does not seem to be right, please, look into these :
