Hello all,
I have a strange problem here: Two users (both running MacOS 9.2) are working on the same QuarkXPress document (XPress 4.1). The document resides on a file server (Windows 2000 Server with Apple File Services, HW-RAID..)..
Normally, I would expect that if one tries to open the file while it is open from the other machine, she'll get an error message ("File is already open...") and fine.. However, instead Quark actually tries to open the file, and then crashes the whole machine - bang!
It appears on both sides: no matter which of them is the second to open the file will crash, so it's not a problem of one of the machines..
Can it be that the server is falsely configured to say the files are closed although they aren't? And if yes, how can I change it (or rather: how can I politely hint the BOFH server admin to change some configuration... :-)
Best greetings
/sascha
