Airport base station & Netgear wireless router

I have both an Apple Airport base station and a Netgear wireless router.  The Airport is directly connected to the Netgear router, which connects to a cable modem.  If I connect to the Airport wirelesssly, which device should issue an IP address via DHCP?  

Removing the airport fro the equation is not an option because I will likely attache a printer to it and a strereo.
