Bit of an odd one. Can't re-connect to Windows 2003 server after a potentially dodgy disconnect.
1. Browsing the Network from the Mac, the required server was found
2. The server icon was in a cage, so Connect button was clicked
3. User name and password entered
4. A list of shares came up and one was selected
5. Mapping sucessful and access to files was normal.
6. Finder now correctly showed SMB resource on the LHS, with an Eject button on the right.
7. Rather than clicking the eject, the entry was dragged into the trash - it was expected that the trash would change to an Eject symbol, but it didn't. The entry was dropped in the trash anyway.
8. In an attempt to Eject the share properly, the entry was dragged out of the trash and back to the finder window, but when dropped in, the file icon 'exploded' and it was gone from both the trash and finder.
OK, so the share link was gone - but on reconnection via the method above, an error message comes up (can't remember the text) but the button options were Fix Alias or Delete Alias. Both have been tried, but after each attempt, access to the share was refused.
1. Why did the share dropped into trash not switch to Eject
2. Why might re-connection be refused.
We were initially concerned that the share may have been damaged on the W2003 server, but checking on a PC found that to be OK.
Thanks
