The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. cannot get dsl modem and nic card connection

upon bootup i get this error message [the fllowing error has occurred while loading protocol number 0 error:59 a network eror has occured]thus no connection.the lan light dosn't light on the modem but does on the nic card.
nic:linksys nc100u 2.1 10/100 network everywhere
dsl modem: alcatel speed touch (home version)external

system info:
amd 1200 mhz cpu (266 fsb)
asus a7v 133 socket a via apollo kt133a chipset
ibm 30gb 7200 rpm ata 100 model dtla-307030

all drivers are current as far as i can tell. usr modem not connected.
