SMC7404BRA EU can't 'see' it anymore, internet OK

HI,
I hope that SMC Technician can help me..
I can tell you that SMC Europe surely hasn't..no answer from any of their contact methods..anyway

I am obviously on the internet using this ADSL modem/Router. But..Since I get my Ip from my provider..I cannot 'see' the Barricade anymore. If i type the IP which originally was set as 192.168.2.1, I get a page not found error.

This is because my IP, default gateway etc. is now changed. So how do I setup 'advanced' settings in the Barricade now??

I have no software firewalls..no ad blocking software running..plus I did the wizard setup of the barricade for a 'bridged single PC' connection..I left everything as default except for VCI which my ISP told me to set to 100

SO basically I run:

VPI = 0
VCI = 100
1483 Bridged Connection

I have 2 pc's both connected to the Barricade, both are working great on the LAN and the WAN..

Speeds are very fast, after testing at DSLreports..I am getting 512/512 speeds after taking 'overhead' into consideration.

I am happy with the speed of the net, plus the network. But what worries me is runnig with no firewall configured..which is why I wanted to connect back to the Barricade.

I have established that my gateway has been changed by the ISP and I know what that IP is..I tried to connect appending the IP with :88 to be more specific about the port the Barricade uses for admin purposes..But still got no connection.

IE gives me a page error, NS 6.2 tells me that the connection was refused, as does Opera. I wonder if that helps anyone out about possibly what is happening here?

SMC7404BRA EU ?? is it ABR?
anyway the vpi/vci are the dsl modem settings, not the SMC router. Your isp can set the modem but not the SMC. Try
tracert www.yahoo.com
or a similar thing, and sort out the ips to see where the smc sits.

run ipconfig from a command line or winipcfg from the run line if your still stuck in the 95/98 era
Your gateway is the SMC not your internet service providers gateway as your barricade is you local gateway as it should be passing you an IP as a DHCP server.  

The IP your provider assigns should be assigned to the WAN port of the router, your internal network is what allows you to connect to your router on the LAN side.  You may need to reset this thing and try again.
