Alcatel speed touch 330 ADSL USB Modem Problem

first of all i never had an adsl before so this is my first time
i got 256K /64 adsl,i am surffering from several disconnections every 5 min to 40 min period
i look at the speed touch diagnosis program i see all types of errors
CRC ERRORS
SDU LENGTH errors
loss of signal,loss of framing,loss of link ,i have win xp and downloaded all the new drivers from speedtouch nothing changed
one day it resumed for 25 hours but slow speed and 29,000 ERRORS!!!!!
but it never happened again
the ADSL led on the modem flashe when it disconnects and when i try to reconnect it says no dialtone or the modem is in use until it remains solid then i can reconnect
the disconnections are from the frst day of installing of the adsl , and i tried it on windows ME But no change
i am also using a spiltter should i get a adsl filter?
plz help me
