I have a customer who has 2 pcs one wireless and the other hardwired to the router. How can I get the XBox to pick up a DHCP IP address? In the console it only has the 2 pcs. Is ther any extra configuration options that I need to be aware of?
I appreciate everyone help with this issue.
Sincerely,
Compucharley

On some routers you need to have the 'Universal Plug and Play' enabled in the router or the Xbox won't get an IP address. I had this problem with a Linksys wireless router. The original firmware had this enabled by default, when the router firmware was upgraded - this feature was disabled by default (it is a security issue). Hope this helps!

You should be able to plug the Xbox into the router. Then configure the Xbox to obtain an IP address dynamically.
Is it plugged in?
