I have a speedstream 5100 dsl modem and linksys cable router. they are hooked up to a Dell 2400 with WinXP and IMac PowerPC G5 OSX 10.4. I have had this setup for about 3 years and am going nuts having to unplug and restart the router and now the modem about 50% of the time trying to get on the internet. The phone company was out and replaced the phone line. I have talked to SBC to no avail. I even tried another new router but no luck. I get the message "can't connect to the internet" and the mac help guide is no help except to say restart the router and modem. I have put another ethernet cable in with no change. The filters are on the phone line. When it finally connects it works great, but it is maddening having it connect about half the time. I have used computers since 1985 and have never run into this before. I have talked to other sbc users who say they do not have this problem. Any ideas?
