PDQ on ADSL line

hello

We are trying to Install ADSL onto a normal BT telephonde line and we have had confirmation that a PDQ machine (a machine that takes card payments) will be used on the same line, now as long as we use a filter will this cause a problem as our ISP says that it has caused problems in the past but they are not too sure now, if anyone can shed some light on this matter that will be great
