Hi Everyone
One of my clients has a DSL line that connects to a modem and then to a Linksys router (model #BEFSR41) that connects to a 24 port switch. They had originally had quite a bit of problems with the connection dropping several times a day and then I had changed the router for a new one. The problem still persisted and then we contacted the phone company to verify the phone line, and was told that there was a problem with the line and that it would be fixed. It was and the problem stopped for about a week. Then we looked at the modem and changed that as well. It runs fine for most of the day, except that around 9AM, every morning the internet goes down and the system needs to be reset.
It was determined that the phone line shares with the fax line and it was ruled out that no faxes are received at that time. I had also replace noise filters that are required for the DSL line. Still no luck.
It's starting to frustrate my client as that time of day is a busy time for him. All of their computers are Windows XP Pro with AVG antivirus installed.
If anyone has any thoughts on what it might be, please let me know. I've spoken with the phone company again and they tell me that the line is fine now.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
