Browse All TopicsHi Experts,
Probably a very simple one this, recently changed ADSL providers and now have a Thomson SpeedTouch ST546 ADSL Modem, Firmware 6.2.17.5. Finding the setup of this excruciating to say the least, the menus don't seem intuitive at all! Trying to set up a Port Forward to 192.168.0.21 on Port 80 so that our web server can be seen from the internet.
Have NAT ON and have setup a Game and Application entry which is for Port 80 UDP and TCP traffic and directed it to point as follows...
Game or Application Device Log
--------------------------
WebServer_80 192.168.0.21 Off
Have re-started the router and configuration seems to have been saved OK, however when navigating to the WAN IP Address assigned to the router from a different physical site I'm still getting the SpeedTouch Login and NOT our Web Server. One thing to note is that the web server is not actually yet present on the network however at the least I would have thought I would have to a Page 404 error on a web browser rather than the SpeedTouch login page which seems to indicate the Modem's not passing through the Web Access requests to the internal network rather its grabbing them itself for the remote login to the router. I know I should get the web server attached to the network to test it fully but for operational reasons can't do this yet. Is the ST546 that intelligent is knows there's nothing on 192.168.0.21 and thus doesn't bother forwarding the requests to a non-existent web server and when I attach the web server all will be well or am I doing something wrong ?
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers!
