is it neccessary to erase startup-config when configuring an cisco 1841 router (out of box)

Hello expert,

I have a new cisco 1841 router.

I about to configure same for frame-relay .

I was looking at a cbt  cisco learning video and the instructor

was saying you need to issue either of the following commands.

ERASE STARTUP-CONFIG   OR RELOAD to erase the current config and start

with a default configuration .

The router will then prompt you for all the information to relevant to your desire

Setup.

I am confused because this is a out of box router.

Can any expert share there experience and provide the correct way to

Start this configuration.

Regards

Jomo
