However you can feild install connectors, the solution to the problem was the right connector the Vendor sent me SC connectors for 50 um not 62.5 um fiber which caused the problem

Fibre need to be termintated in to insure the ends is dead flat with no inperfection! equipment cost upwards of £10,000 to do the job.
the patch leads should have some of these on the end!!

Now if you are trying to fit them your self I am suprised. generaly you buy pigtaisl pre built. (connector with a short lenth of fibre attached) and then splice your fibre on to the end of these. snapping a fibre will not give you a clean end!
