Linksys 128-bit WEP Passphrase

Asked by noquarter in Broadband Internet

EQUIP:
(2) laptops using Linksys WPC11 Wireless Cards
(3) desktops using Linksys WUSB11 v 2.6 Wireless USB Adapters
(1) Linksys BEFW11S4 running firmware v 1.42.7
(1) Linksys Signal Booster attached to the router

Using SBC DSL and all computers running XP.

I've renamed the SSID and I'm using a Passphrase to generate the key.  I read in a response to a different question that "If using a Passphrase to generate your WEP key, make sure you use EXACTLY the same Passphrase on all wireless devices".

Q:  How do I use the Passphrase on my other wireless devices (I'm assuming the devices are my wireless cards and USB adapters).  I only see an option to enter the key, not the Passphrase.  And what is NIC or what does it stand for?Start Free Trial
