Port Forwarding thru Linksys Router

OK this one is good for 500 points. I have a customer that has a DSL connection (dynamic IP) connected using a Linksys etherfast cable/dsl router. I have a dynamic dns service working with this connection. They are able to surf the web, email, etc. I installed VNC on several machines behind the router, they can all connect to each other using the internal IP address'. I forwarded port 5900 on the router to 5900 on one of the machines (win2K) that has vncserver running on it. When I connect from outside the router using vncviewer I get the prompt for the password, it authenticates then connects and all I get is a dark screen. It never shows the desktop. I have also forwarded port 3389 for terminal services (its win2k server) when I connect the client just hangs then gives the message: The connection to the remote computer was broken. This may have been caused by a network error. Please try connecting to the remote computer again. I have also tried different computers behind the router and none of those worked either. I have setup this same connection at other sites using the same type of router haven't had this problem. The router appears to have mostly default settings enabled, although I'm not the one who set it up.
