If your DSL connection account requires a login and password, such as "johnuser@att.net", you're probably using a PPPoE connection. The easiest way would be to configure the Linksys to have the user name and password settings instead of keeping it in bridge (passthrough) mode. You could then have the Linksys device act as the DHCP server and hand out addresses. The machines on your network should get an address and automatically connect to the internet.

Once you get connected to Linksys BEFSR41, then you don't need to connect via the Start Menu. You just open the IE (Internet Explorer) and try to browse.
Here are some setting you need to maintain on IE -> Options -> Connection. Make sure, that you have option, Never Dial a connection. Also under the LAN Setting, you have NO option Selected.
