Browse All TopicsI have just install Comcast internet and I have a linksys (WRT54G) wireless router need to set it up to work.
I had experience with SBC (PPPoE) but not sure how to do with Comcast cable.
Any procedure or instruction for doing this ? Thank you.

Yep... Just need to know if the customer was assigned a static from Comcast.
Only real thing to configure is generally whether ISP uses Static or DHCP on the WAN side.
--> Some LinkSys have an autoconfiguration tool that will ask this; I think newer ones will try to request a DHCP address and if the request fails, default to static.
Make sure this process works properly in the config screens of the router. I've seen some push to STATIC the assigned IP from DHCP... Comcast won't be happy if this happens.

It is quite simple, use your router manual to configure (everything is there).
