Multiple SSID (Virtual Interfaces) on Mini version of DD-WRT

hi folks

is there anyone ever tried enabling multiple SSIDs (Virtual Interfaces) under Wireless | Basic Settings on a Mini version of DD-WRT on Linksys WRT54G??

i followed the instructions from here but unfortunately i could not see the configured virtual SSID popping up in the Wireless Networks window of Windows, whatever the SSID was broadcast or not.

my Linksys WRT54G is v1.1 and its "nvram get wl0_corerev" result is "5".

my DD-WRT version is "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) mini (SVN revision 14896)".

any comments please?

thanks heaps,

On the instruction page you linked it says,

If it is between 5 and 8 then it is capable of multiple SSID's but not multiple BSSID's, which means the wireless interfaces will all have the same MAC address so some devices might not recognize both WLAN's, and you will need to use a build that has a VINT wireless driver.

You're using a build with the NEWDriver, and you need the VINTage driver.
Try
ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/V24_TNG/svn13491-snow/VINT/dd-wrt.v24-13491_VINT_mini.bin

hi Darr247

sorry for replying late.

You're using a build with the NEWDriver, and you need the VINTage driver.

does it mean that my current MINI version has no way to support multiple SSIDs?

per my experience on this WRT54G, the performance is not good as expected: high latency with no reason. so i am really keen to keep using the current MINI build.

thanks again.
