Is there a way to keep a log of when a user is logged on and what applications they are using in Citrix Metaframe XP?

I have Citrix Metaframe XP setup on a server on our network. I know I can see who is logged on at a given time, but is there a way for me to keep a log of what users were logged on to what applications at what times?

which version of Metaframe XP are you running. If XPe you will have Resource Manager which enables you to do this.

Actually the version I am using is XPs. Would I have to upgrade to XPe in order to be able to track usage?

yes Resource Manager is only available in Enterprise Edition.
There are also other products that can do this or you can write your own VBScripts to save some money.

Here is a great article from brianmadden.com with examples on how to use VBScript to create your own reports: http://www.brianmadden.com/content/content.asp?ID=240
Sorry do take so long to respond. I will check out that article.

Well, I started to read the article and it delves into creating databases in SQL and the like. This is a little more work than I really wanted to do. Is there maybe a third party application that handles this if there isn't support within the product natively to do it?

wow, I really appreciate all of the work you put into this. When you say "run this from the data collector to get the most up to date info." what do you mean by data collector?

tbone
the data collector is a specific server in your farm that collects dynamic data (like sessions).  Look in the properties of your farm.  This info is sent out to all servers in the farm often.  If your farm is fairly small running this from any server should be fine.  For large farms it takes longer for the info to be updated on all servers so that's why i said to run from the data collector.
