Exchange 2003 error ID C1030af0

Hi,

is there anybody who can help me? When I try to see public folders in Exchange 2003 System Manager, I receive error code above with text
"The operation failed due to an invalid format of the HTTP request. Verify that the host header is correct for the virtual server."

Can you help me to solve the problem?

Thanks

I have no idea what host headers.

While this scenario may not EXACTLY match yours, I would venture that you have denied permissions somewhere, or have an ACL with a Global Security group on it that cannot be expanded. Is this a clean install of 2003, or an in-place upgrade, or a migrated server? Give us some details....

Hi Kideho,

that article I have already found and tried before bothering people here. It did not work.

This is clean install of Windows 2003 stan. server + Exchange 2003, both in English. In the beginning I had no problem with creation of public folders etc. and I never received error message which¨we speak about.

I configured Outlook web access and it worked.

But later on, I decided to access Outlook via http:\\mail.cro-services.cz and my web pages via http:\\www.cro-services.cz

I created new item in IIS, under web sites

First item is MAIL, identifier 1, host header value is mail.cro-services.cz, IP address all unassigned, port 80
Second item is WWW, identifies 896362, host header value www.cro-services.cz, IP address all unassigned, port 80.

ugh. OWA is supposed to be accessed by \exchange at the end of the default web site URL. By changing this, you broke the access to PFs, they are directly linked to IIS. Put it back the way it was. did you install IISlockdown or URLscan on this machine?

Hello thiggy65,

thanks a lot for your help, public folders work again as they used to previously. My last, probably easy question is, that I cannot see public folders in Outlook clients? What should I do? Thanks¨

What client are you running?  Are you connecting to an Exchange server during initial Outlook Client setup or are you configuring for SMTP and POP3?
Hi,

I have small home network, on the server there is Exchange running, and I am using Outlook 2003 to connect to Exchange - no SMPT, no POP account, direct connection to Exchange.
