How do I get proper DNS name response from Exchange 2000?

I have followed the best practices by naming my domain, mydomain.local in AD in a 2000 server environment.  I have added the mydomain.com in the recipient policies and mail is flowing.  My question is how do I get the Exchange server to respond to the "telnet mail.mydomain.com 25" with "220 mail.mydomain.com..." instead of "220 server1.mydomain.local..."?  I can't find the setting anywhere and www.dnsreports.com does note this as an error.
Thanks,
ken

Thanks a milion!  Very helpful.  The last tab was actually "Delivery" not "Connection" and FYI on 2003 I did NOT have to restart SMTP service for it to take effect, but in Exchange 2000 I had to RESTART the service.  Worked like a charm!!!

Again, thanks!  My google searches for this answer and my endless clicking on buttons was getting REALLY old!

I was doing it from memory - I knew it was the last tab - should have checked before posting. Same with restarting the service - couldn't remember whether a restart was required.

Glad you have it fixed, don't forget to close the question.

Simon.
