Error while trying to run offline defrag on Windows Exchange Server 2000
I am running eseutil /ms E:\exchdata\ /tf:\tempdfg.edb and getting this error

As for how long it will take depends.
Is the F: drive local on your server or a mapped drive to another server? If mapped to another server then this will increase the time it takes since it is moving data back and forth across the network.
If it is local then I think it is somewhere around 3-5 GB/hr. Of course this also depends on the processor.

Its another physical drive on the same server with 200 gig available.
The server is a PIII 2 ghz w/512 ram

Also, the gage doesnt appear to be moving.
How can I make sure its running?

Look at task manger, processes.
Check the ESEUTIL process.

What I did notice is:
1. You typed in all caps. Does that matter? I didn't think it would.
2. I never put the filename in the location area of the command. I did that and now it is working.

PS. How long should this take? The combined size of the 2 files are about 16.8 gig.
