Why use Exchange Server?

I am attempting to convince a client as to how they can benefit from purchasing Exchange (2003).  Does anyone know of any links to articles or documents that could help further my argument as to why this company should move to Exchange?  Keep in mind this a mid-size financial institution that is currently using Outlook to POP the servers of their current mail hosting company.  Thanks!

These are very helpful..thank you.  But I am also hoping to find some links not from Microsoft.  They are asking for an unbiased opinion.  And of course Microsoft is biased :)

Interesting a search for advantages of migrating to exchange seems to only return Microsoft links, Mmmmm.

I would say 4 big ones are; security as suggested by kristinaw, ability to share calendars and contacts, ability to recover messages using shadow copies, and with 2003 integration of mobile devices such as PDA's and cell phones.

It was also pointed out to me the other day that with current privacy issues the ability to back up and recover e-mails, which are considered company property, has become more important than ever. This is difficult to achieve without centralized control of all e-mail.
good point rob brings up about the integration of mobile devices. we do this in my current org and execs love it. another 'productivity booster'.
Thanks nytekgirl,
