Connection Outlook 2003 to MS Exchange 2003 from Notebook

we have server with Exchange 2003 where we have our company email accounts and we also use the Blackberry Enterprise server for our company emails

I would like to ask you, how we can connect to our Exchange server (what settings) from our notebooks (with Outlook 2003) when we are traveling abroad, for example from hotel room with WI-FI access
(we were using Outlook Express POP3 and SMTP services till this time, but we would like to use Outlook 2003 directly connected to our Exchange server)

thanks!

Dear Simon,

thanks for your comments,

We would like to use simple mail, we do not need secure HTTPS

what is VPN?

we have Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003, with at least one Windows 2003 DC/GC
and also Windows XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 on our notebooks

how should we proceed with the settings?

thanks!
VPN? Are you serious?

Virtual Private Networking.

If you want to use the full features of Exchange then you need to use RPC over HTTPS. It allows the full Outlook client to connect to Exchange without the use of a VPN and it goes through most firewalls. It is also secure. POP3/SMTP is not secure as your usernames and passwords are sent across in the clear.

Simon.
