Upgrade Exchange 5.5 to 2003

I have recently upgraded my nt4 pdc to 2003 AD. All users are migrated to Active Directory now. I do still have 3 BDC's in this domain and a NT4 server running Exchange 5.5.

I am looking for the best way to install a brand new server with Exchange 2003 and move all the mailboxes and the associated user info from the existing exchange 5.5 server to this new 2003 exchange server.

I do realize that MS recommends using Native mode, but until I can get all the BDC's upgraded to AD I must use Mixed mode.

Also one more question.

The Exchange 5.5 is using domain.org as the primary and when we install the new server we want to change that to domain.com. What all would be involved in changing everything to the new domain in exchange?

Microsoft has migrations tools which you can use to migrate the Exchange 5.5 mailboxes to Exchange 2003.
Yes, microsoft does recommend Native mode for its Exchange server. But this is not necessary. Exchange 2003 will run fine in a mixed mode Active Directory domain. The only reason why they recommend native mode, is so that they can sell more Windows 2003 Server Licenses.

"The Exchange 5.5 is using domain.org as the primary and when we install the new server we want to change that to domain.com."

This is not a problem.
