How do I put my Server 2k3 online as a real domain

Zones: Data Hosting/Data Havens, Windows 2003 Server, Web Hosting

So I have a registered name with Godaddy that has mycompany.com. I am putting together a server that will do online backup for people that will be stationed at my office. How can I get my server to be a sub domain of mycompany.com. I want it to be called backup.mycompany.com.
Is this posible? Can someone let me know the steps involved.
