The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How do I get my domain back?

Asked by ziche in ISPs & Web Hosting, Web Hosting

Tags: my, domain, get, back, do

Ive recently had quite an unfortunate experience with 1 of the top rated web hosts on the net.

I set up several websites at this host during the course of last year using my newly acquired VISA card (which I got for this sole purpose).

Unfortunately for me, some way down the line, the bank that issued the card to me, and all other banks in my area (must be sharing the same VISA card system thing!), decided to take down the online payment facility of their VISA system for maintenance, they say, for an indefinite period!

Worried for my most important site, I asked the web host if they accept alternative payment methods, they said they didnt.

So when the billing cycle for my site came, my card couldnt be charge and my site was brought down and my domain expired!

The host says, as soon as I successfully renew my subscription, my site and my domain will immediately be reactivated.

But I dont know when my card will be usable again and Ive found another host which accepts bank transfers and checks so I intend to move my site to them.

How do I get my expired domain which I registered at my current host and use it at this new web host?

Can I just go ahead and setup at the new host using my old expired domain like it was never used before, or will the process be more complicated than that?
