How do I monitor bandwidth usage on Canopy network?

My company has recently purchased a WISP made up of Motorola Canopy Subscriber Modules and backhaul (P2P) radios of various capacities. I am curious as to how I can determine how much traffic is being carried over each backhaul link in real or near-real time. The Prizm software from Motorola is beyond our budget.

I have seen and downloaded Microtik's "The Dude" and have it configured to indicate if each AP or P2P radio responds to a Ping, but cannot figure out how to make the links between elements indicate the data load they are carrying.

I'm not "married" to "The Dude" - it's just some software that I have found. Any other software suggestions or a pointer to a more in depth "The Dude" primer would be appreciated.

use the dude snmp explorer to check through the canopy snmp attributes - there will be some interface attributes in there somewhere, and then when you find them, add those atrributes as a new probe, then add the new probe to the services list for the canopy devices.

Motorola Canopy supports SNMP, so you should check if the IP address of the Canopy answers to SNMP requests. I'd recommend Windows software called PRTG, it's simple and straightforward.

If you dont get a SNMP answer, try accessing via web-interface, and enabling SNMP, as it's probably disabled atm.
