Application Error

Hi Experts,
  We have a HP Proliant DL 140 running Dual 3.06 Xeon, Windows 2003, 2GB DDR 266 Ram, having a MS Application Error

"SysFader: iexplore.exe Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c84afb2" referenced memory at "0x00000014"  The memory could not be "written" Click ok to terminate the program or click cancel to debug the program."

We also use a Payroll program that we can re-produce the error every time and it gives the same message, but different code.

I'm just asking for general help, on how to finish trouble shooting this issue.  First the software company stated we need to make sure the server had full windows updates, which it didn't.  This has been done and we can still re-produce the error everytime.  

This is a co-located Production server and I understand if we have the extra eq we could isolate the issue if this is hardware but we do not.  We don't even have exta cRam at moment which is why I'm stuck.  HELP!

I've had this problem before...
Ended up being a corrupted profile.  Sysfader is a subsystem application that is basically a "fader" for menu animation and button animation....  happens also when you logoff.

Copy all of your files out of your profile.
Logon as another user with admin rights..or administrator...  Delete the profile folder c:\documents and settings\yourusername\.
Logoff of admin account....then log back on using your username...and your profile will be recreated...then copy your files back to the favorites folder, desktop, and my documents folder.

you can also test the ram to be sure ; use memtest86+ from www.memtest.org

I have same issue with my WinXP SP2.
At Dell support they tell to remove SP2 from Win XP system or clearly reinstall XP with SP2.
I ignored that advice and now I see I was right because you have same issue on win2003.

I read about several solutions for this problem like removing sysfader.exe, editing registry and
unchecking checkmark from display properties of shading menu. It seems none of these are solving problem.

So far couple of people removed suspicious add-ons from IE and it worked.
I did it also and so far (a week) problem is gone.
Try folowing:
IE explorer:  Tools: internet options: <tab> Programms: Manage Add-ons

One by one disable all add-ons where publisher is not verified (even if it is Microsoft)
Restart IE explorer. You have nothing to loose(your explorer will be cleaner), for me it works.
 Please reply about results.
