The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. reseller taken money and removed website and stolen my domain name (it seems)

My domain has come up for renewal. My response to the renewal reminder notice was that I wanted to get an "auth code" to move the domain to an alternate domain name management company.

My hosting provider has failed to respond to this message, nor have they responded to subsequent support tickets, emails and a phone call (automated answer service, so I haven't called again). They've just gone ahead and actioned a worldpay payment _AND_ removed my website!

What can I do, what should I do?

The domain is a ".com", it is listed on whois as being renewed until 2008 and has my contact details with it.

I've tried going to enom for whom my host resold the domain but they claim they can't do anything (!). I can't find a simple answer from ICANN, variously there are pages that say they don't do domain dispute resolution and pages that say about how to do it. But this isn't really a dispute as such.

The guy running the domain / hosting company only has a PO Box address listed.

What's my next step OFT (here in UK?), ICANN, police ??

My initial contact with ConsumerDirect (who operate for the Office of Fair Trading) had been inconclusive as they assumed that owning a dot-com I must be a company(!), I'm not.
