Copy website - httrack

Asked by Eternal_Student in Web Hosting, Web Servers, FTP Software

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine has lost ftp access to a site he built which contains a load of content that he wants to transfer to a new host. I tried to ftp into his account and you cannot access it. When you hit the url you get the message saying server not found.

The guys who did host his site told him this:

"However, you may want to use some sort of website copying application to pull down the content and images. One such application can be found at the URL below:

http://www.httrack.com/

This will allow you to copy and store all of your site's content on your local machine in preparation for transferring it to a new host."

My question is WILL this application actually work? I have downloaded it but cannot seem to work out how?

Any help on this matter would be great.

Thanks.
