The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Is 1 & 1 Shared Hosting Business Pro Package suitable for multiple business sites

Asked by Treder in Web Hosting

Tags: server hosting load

Hi,
I am a web designer/developer and have been 'reselling' clients webspace from a single 1 & 1 Business Pro Package (http://order.1and1.co.uk/xml/order/Hosting;jsessionid=EED8F4F03413E6D3CBED435DD320BBD6.TC31a?__frame=_top&__lf=Static).  The account makes it very easy to host quite a number of domains/sites from a single shared hosting server.  I now have 5 or 6 small business sites run from the one account and am well within (30%) the traffic/space limits.  My query is whether it is sensible to keep adding more sites to this account or whether I should start thinking about separate packages for each client, or a limited number of clients.

I have called 1 & 1 on this and they recommend opening an additional account.  But they also said that the shared hosting packages host a lot of clients on each server.  So putting aside the cost of an additional account for a moment, if I create an extra account, surely it will be hosted alongside just as many other clients but just probably on a different server.  I certainly have no control/view of what loads these other clients sites will have on the server and therefore how they might influence my own clients sites

I'd be very interested in peoples view points on this.

Many thanks,
Tony
