Virtual Server - How to config?

How to config a system, eg. Linux, freeBSD, BSD, or SunOS to host hundreds of virtual servers? (NOTE: Virtual Server I mean a user who has its own set of httpd daemom, email, FTP server and POP servers. Each has its own IP and their own "root" and thus they could add many users to their system as they like under their disk space.) So I want to set up a ADVANCED Virtual Server environment, not simple web hosting.
Anyone could help?
