iptables loop for ifaces

Howdy,

I run a vpn server. Every time someone connects, my main system firewall is run (which covers my internet iface), and then a few rules are applies to the interface on which they connect, eg. ppp0 or ppp1.

I need to include in my ip-up.local file, a script which will detect which ifaces are already in use, and then apply the firewall to each, as currently if a second concurrent connection is made to the vpn, the first connection loses his, as the firewall policy is drop and his rlues will be wiped.

One more complication. My internet connection runs over pppoa, and the interface can change... I do however have a script which will determine which interface my internet connection is on. So perhaps this can be incorporated into the loop script, so it will not run the custom firewall rules on my internet iface.

Current setup is:
/etc/rc.d/rc.firewall is run on boot

/etc/ppp/ip-up.local :
/etc/rc.d/rc.firewall
# custom rules follow... where $1 = iface

The script that determines the internet iface is:
NET_IFACE=`ifconfig |grep -B 1 218.214 |grep -v 218 |cut --delimiter=' ' -f 1`
