Remote Desktop to Suse 10.0 from Windows XP/2000
Hello,

We bought a high end workstation and installed Suse 10.0 on it for a water flow modeling software package. We have a Windows network with all computers being in a domain. I need to keep this workstation in the same room as the servers so I will need to install some sort of Remote Desktop on the Linux workstation. It will be accessed through Windows XP/2000 computers. I also need to put some sort of virus/firewall security on the Linux workstation. I do not want to join it to the Windows domain. My Linux experience is limited to installing Suse on a desktop 3 times and trying to get the file sharing to work.

Any suggestions for Remote Desktop, virus and firewall?

For the remote desktop, is there special software I need to install on the Windows computers so they can take control of a Linux computer.

The variety of Linux distributions creates myriad issues relating to configuration and operations when computers are networked, not the least of which is the use of various network management applications, some of which are included with specific distributions, while others are standalone applications.
