Viewing Traffic Volume using MRTG

Helloo,
I want to know how i can generate a graph to view the traffic volume on an interface of my switch using MRTG. I am curently using MRTG to view the bandwidth utilization on different interfaces of my switch.

i am confused, it sound like you are already generating graphs for interfaces on this switch?

 Have you re ran cfgmaker on thsi device ?

step 1. run cfgmaker to create mrtg config file
i use the following ( please note you don't have to choose my exact options)

/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /srv/www/htdocs/mrtg' --global 'Options[_]: growright,bits' --community=secret --ifref=ip --subdirs=Hostname_IP --output=/home/mrtg/mrtg.cfg --snmp-options=::2:2::2 '--if-filter=(($if_type=22) || ($if_type=32) || ($if_type=44) || ($if_type=46))'  IPADDRESS(s)


the IPADDRESS(s) option is one or more ip addresses separated by space for which you want to monitor.

then you have to run indexmaker like this

 /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/indexmaker --output=index2.html "--title=MY TRAFFIC" --enumerate mrtg.cfg

to create the web page where you will view your graphs, ofcourse you should put the correct path to the mrtg.cfg file

 my advice is read man pages for indexmaker and cfgmaker...
