Assigning Two IP Addresses To One Server (One NIC Card)

Asked by t1shopper in Linux Networking, Network Cards & Adapters, Red Hat Linux

Tags: ,

We have a single Red Hat Linux server and it's functioning as both a web server  and a mail server .  We have multiple IP addresses we can use but the server only has one NIC card.  We want to split the web ("www.mycompany.com") and mail ("mail.mycompany.com") traffic up.

So can we assign two static IP addresses to our single Red Hat server even though it has only one NIC card?
