For such purposes (sms alerts, but with nagios, not monit), I bought gsm modem (I use siemens mc35i). I found it more reliable than email-sms gateway.

I have configure monit in my network to monitor all my servers. If any problem found, monit sending alert mail to my mail id. I want to send alert sms to my mobile phone. Is there any free sms service available in india. I am in india. I need to send sms alert to my mobile.

Not aware of any free sms gateways. You could use this as a good argument for a blackberry however.
