IP address assignment

I have some problem with assigning 2 ips to my 2 nics in my linux server. there are 2 nic in my server I had assigned eth0 for lan and the ip is 192.168.1.100 and eth1 for wan and its ip 121.128.147.x with subnet 255.255.255.0 but when i give ifconfig -a command its showing only eth0 ip address no ip address showing in my eth1, can you help me why this happened? and what to do for that

yes eth0 up as well as eth1 up

how did you configure eth1?
ifconfig eth1 121.128.147.x netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 121.128.147.255 up
if it still doesn't show in ifconfig, check syslog for any errors

i had edit the file /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth
device=eth1
bootproto=static
ipaddr=121.128.147.x
subnet=255.255.255.0
broadcast=121.128.247.255
gateway=121.128247.1
onboot=yes

then
ifup eth1 up

I assume the gateway is a typo?
look in syslog, you should see an error message if there's a problem

As liddler pointed out, is there an entry like this on your /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth file

device=eth1
gateway=121.128247.1   <- should be 121.128.247.1

run these then:
ifconfig eth1 121.128.147.x netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 121.128.147.255 up
ifconfig eth1

do you get any output?

the gateway is 121.128.147.1 earlier one typing error

Is your eth1 connected to anything? a switch? a router?

does the down interface show up?

and the file name, was that right?

/etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth

shouldn't it be /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0 or /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth1
