WPAD option in DHCP server not recognized

Asked by XeroxSA in Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Linux Networking, Red Hat Linux

Tags: Red Hat Linux, DHCP Server, WPAD option in DHCP reservation

I am trying to get my DHCP server to send out the WPAD option (252) to some specific clients. I am using the DHCP implementation on a redhat box and have reservations setup in dhcpd.conf. When the client sends out the DHCPINF packet it does request option 252. However, in the DHCPACK packet, option 252 is not sent. I noticed when the Option was NOT part of the reservation things worked ok. What could I be doing wrong? Is there a known issue with giving out option 252 via a reservation?Start Free Trial
