I have an NIS master and slave which can communicate with each other. When I create a user on the master, I cannot update to the slave properly. The master just hangs.
cd /var/yp
make
<the master hangs now and I have to wait for the timeout>
What can I do to resolve the issue?
I have found out that it does update, but the "make" command still hangs. So if I run "ypcat passwd" on the slave I can see the new user.
However, I would still like to try and resolve the issue of the hang when I run make.
